Why We Ride

Why We Ride is a story about who we are. Individuals with a desire to dream, discover and explore. Seeking a life outside our daily confinements and sharing those moments together. It’s a story about the journey, not the destination. Motorcycles represent the milestones of our lives. From a kid’s dream come true, to a retiree’s return to freedom. From a family riding together on the sand dunes, to hundreds of choppers carving through the canyons – the bond is the same. It’s about the passion of the riders and the soul of their machines. Your senses will heighten as the world rushes in, your heart will beat to the pulse of the engine, your mind will race and set you free. Once you let a motorcycle into your life, it will change you forever.

Frogman Rocket II

Powered by 1.000bhp supercharged V8 from a drag car, this near 1.300kg trike is said to be capable to reach 321km/h. Its owner, Tim Cotterrill, who commissioned the machine to his own design from the same company that made Jay Leno's tank car, has only mustered the balls to hit 257km/h though. Should he ever reach Vmax, there's a parachute on-board for extra braking.

BMW Concept Ninety: The Story
BMW-concept-90-designboom01.jpg

finished in daytona orange paintwork similar to the original R 90 S, brushed areas from the custom aluminum craftsmanship can be seen in the tinted areas of the front fairing and tank. contemporary LED elements light up the face of the bike honoring its ancestor with a round headlamp design. additional key highlights include the front cover of the engine the valve covers and exhaust system designed by sands, which are painstakingly milled using a contrast cut process; striking an alluring contrast to the black mechanical components. this technology was also applied to the rims, whose classic design recalls the racing triumphs.

'everything just fits together perfectly,' says edgar heinrich, head of BMW motorrad design. the BMW concept ninety is sheer enjoyment in every respect – from the development of the idea to the sketching stage to the construction process. but above all when you’re riding it. it’s an absolute riding machine – just like the R 90 S was in its time.'

About Sportsaman Flyer

"The “Sportsman Flyer Company” started not as a business, but as a hobby. I have built and collected cars and bicycles for years and have always wanted to add a Schwinn Whizzer motorized bicycle to my collection. While keeping my eyes open for just the right bike I started seeing motorized bicycles around with newer two stroke engines. I decided to build one and found a vintage Schwinn Panther frame to start with. This particular frame, commonly called a straight bar frame because of it's unique middle frame tube in the front triangle, is very similar in shape to early motorcycles."
